APC nominates 23 chairmanship, 276 councilorship candidates for Benue LG Poll

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, led by Austin Agada, has nominated 23 chairmanship and 276 councillorship candidates for the upcoming local government elections, scheduled for October 5, 2024.

According to a statement from the APC state chairman’s media office, the primary elections were largely conducted through consensus and affirmation across most local governments and council wards.

Samuel Atsuku, who participated in the primaries in Tarka Local Government, credited the success of the party’s primary election to the dedication of local stakeholders.

Simon Aluor, who took part in the primaries in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, commended the APC for its exemplary conduct and peaceful process.

In Gboko, the primaries concluded smoothly with Basil Yina being selected as the party’s candidate for the local government election.

The statement noted that the primary elections were held across all ward headquarters in the 23 local government areas of the state on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
