On Tuesday, the Forum of All Progressives Congress State Chairmen voted to support the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
A team of 37 state party chairmen delivered the endorsement during a solidarity visit to the party’s office in Abuja to pledge their devotion to the embattled national chairman.
Cornelius Ojelabi, the forum’s interim chairman and Lagos APC chairman, addressed the crowd and stated that they were fully behind Ganduje and will support him against external aggression.
“We’re here to inform you that you are still the captain of the ship. After all, those who made the statement were not even known by the party in the first place.
“We will not allow you to be embarrassed like former chairmen of the party.
“What they wanted to do was a coup. But the coup has failed. We are here to show that we are solidly behind you anytime any day,” he said.
