APC urges Nigerians to reject PDP in 2027

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a political entity gradually fading into obscurity due to its ongoing leadership crisis.

The APC has urged Nigerians to prevent the PDP from returning to power, citing the alleged deterioration left behind after its 16-year rule.

This appeal was made by the APC’s National Publicity Director, Bala Ibrahim, during an interview with Sunday PUNCH.

He stated, “Nigeria is still suffering from the damage caused by the PDP’s 16-year misrule. That party is finished. Are these the same individuals people expect to govern this country again? Believe me, this is only the beginning. We in the APC are enjoying the spectacle.”

Ibrahim further criticised the PDP’s inability to manage itself, stating, “The party cannot manage anything, including its own affairs. What is happening now proves that divine intervention rescued Nigerians by removing them from power.

“There is more to uncover if one delves deeper into their problems. They should visit our APC Progressive Institute, established by our National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, to learn how to engage in politics without bitterness.”

APC Denies Involvement in PDP’s Crisis

Responding to allegations that President Bola Tinubu’s APC was involved in the PDP’s crisis, Ibrahim dismissed the claims.

“How is the APC responsible for the crisis at Wadata Plaza (PDP headquarters in Abuja)? We are not even nearby. So, how can they blame us for their misfortunes? What does the APC have to do with them having two different secretaries and two chairmen?

“They simply do not know how to govern or organise themselves. None of those involved in their crisis are APC members or loyalists. It is entirely their own doing.”

PDP Leaders Hold Reconciliation Meeting in Bauchi

Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was notably absent as key leaders of the PDP’s North East zonal caucus convened in Bauchi to discuss reconciliation efforts and strategies for the 2027 elections.

The meeting, held on Thursday, was attended by the three PDP governors from the region: Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Taraba State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas, and Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

Also in attendance were members of the PDP Reconciliation Committee, led by former National Secretary Olagunsoye Oyinlola, alongside senators, House of Representatives members, and state assembly members from the zone.
