APC’s Bomai wins Yobe south senatorial poll

The All Progressives Congress candidate Ibrahim Bomai has been named the winner of the Yobe South senatorial race by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Yobe State.

Abatcha Melemi, the election’s returning officer, revealed the results on Saturday at the Federal College of Education (Technical) Potiskum. He said that Bomai won with 69,596 votes, defeating Halilu Mazagane, the PDP candidate who received the second-fewest votes with 68,885 votes.

Following excessive voting at a polling location in the Manawachi polling unit in the state’s Fika Local Government Area, INEC had earlier ruled the district’s election to be inconclusive.
