The Court of Appeal in Abuja has withheld its decision in the appeal filed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who contested his removal by the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
The tribunal, which conducted its judgment via Zoom, declared Nasiru Gawuna, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, as the victor of the election.
The tribunal concluded that 165,663 of Yusuf’s votes were invalid due to the absence of signatures or stamps from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the ballot papers.
Governor Yusuf contested the tribunal’s decision and proceeded to the Court of Appeal.
On Monday, the Court of Appeal deferred its judgment in the case.
