The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has sacked the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdulahi, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In the judgement as delivered on Tuesday, the court declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Sa’ad Ibrahim, as the validly elected member representing Umaisha/Ugya State Constituency in the March 18 state assembly election.

According to reports, there had been a battle between the speaker of the state house of assembly, Mr Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, who is representing the Umaisha-Ugya constituency in the state assembly, and Mr Daniel Ogah Ogazi, representing Kokona East constituency, respectively, over the speakership tussle.

The crisis in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly had led to the emergence of two speakers, which was later resolved by the state governor Abdulahi Sule, leaving Balarabe as the speaker but being sacked Tuesday by the appeal court.
