The Commander, Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army (TRADOC), Maj.-Gen. Kevin Aligbe, has cautioned participants of the current 2024 Lieutenant-to-Captain Practical Promotion Examination (LCPPE) against engaging in examination malpractice.

Addressing the officers at the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment in Jos Plateau, Maj.-Gen. Kevin Aligbe, who serves as the Examination President, emphasized the importance of adhering to ethical standards during the ongoing 2024 Lieutenant-to-Captain Practical Promotion Examination (LCPPE).

This caution was highlighted in a statement released by Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, on Tuesday.

Aligbe reiterated the Nigerian Army’s firm stance against examination malpractice, underscoring the severe consequences that such misconduct could incur, potentially hindering their advancement within the military ranks.

He reminded the candidates that the examination formed part of a series of professional military education programs aimed at refining their skills and leadership qualities.

Furthermore, Aligbe urged the candidates to embody the core values of the army and to impart these values onto the younger officers. He emphasized that the examination would also assess their level of discipline and courage, factors that greatly influence their career progression within the army.

He said that the examination was in tandem with the command philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, which is “to transform Nigerian Army into well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force towards achieving its constitutional responsibilities in a joint environment.”

Aligbe guaranteed the candidates that the examination would be administered with impartiality and transparency by the panelists and directing staff.

During his opening address, Maj.-Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3 Division and Commander of the Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, emphasized the importance of maintaining decorum and discipline throughout the examination.

He highlighted that the examination serves as a pivotal factor in shaping the candidates’ career advancement and in broadening their comprehension of various facets of military operations, ultimately improving their effectiveness in ongoing operations nationwide.

“Your performance in this examination is crucial for your career development,” he said.
