The Nigerian Army troops stationed in Zamfara State as part of counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency efforts in the North West region have successfully eliminated a notorious terrorist leader named Junaidu Fasagora, along with numerous of his followers.
On Thursday, the Nigerian Army released a statement through its official X handle, announcing that the achievement was made following intense artillery bombardment and ground combat in the Tsafe General Area of the state.
Fasagora and his terrorist group have consistently perpetrated numerous kidnappings and other terrorist acts against civilians in various states across the North West.
The statement emphasized that their elimination represents a significant triumph in the ongoing battle against terrorism and insurgency in the nation.
“The successful operation is a clear assertion of the Nigerian army’s relentless pursuit of peace and stability in the region and other regions of the country,” the statement added.
