ASUU strike: NLC protests in Ilorin

In support of the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ strike action, members of the Nigeria Labour Congress are protesting outside the Kwara State Government House in Ilorin.

On Tuesday, a few more people are demonstrating near the state’s post office in the Muritala Mohammed Road neighborhood.

The current demonstration provides the NLC with a chance to draw attention to other problems facing the country.

The protesters carried signs that read, among other things, “Honor and implement your agreement with ASUU.”

Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities participants were also present for the rally.

The NLC organized the countrywide demonstration in support of ASUU because the strike had been in effect for five months as of July 14, 2022.

Workers in Abuja and the state capitals were instructed to join the demonstration last week by the Nigeria Labour Congress.
