On Wednesday, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai, and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, visited the gravesite of late President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.
Peter Obi, former Anambra State governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, also paid a condolence visit to Buhari’s family in Daura.
Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s military head of state between 1983 and 1985, and later as a democratically elected president from 2015 to 2023, died on Sunday in a London clinic.
His body was flown into Nigeria on Tuesday accompanied by Vice-President Kashim Shettima and Femi Gbajabiamila, chief of staff to President Bola Tinubu.
Buhari was buried in a spot where he usually sat in his compound’s garden when he was alive.
