Atiku slams Tinubu over rising hunger

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu of failing to address Nigeria’s deepening hunger and poverty more than two years into his administration.

In a statement issued on Monday through his spokesman, Paul Ibe, Atiku described the level of food insecurity as unacceptable, warning that widespread deprivation could fuel unrest similar to the French Revolution, the Arab Spring, or Nigeria’s own #EndSARS protests.

He argued that millions of Nigerians are “increasingly trapped in poverty and misery” under Tinubu’s government, with hunger driving crime, terrorism and social unrest.

Atiku urged the administration to ensure that its reforms have “a human face,” stressing that “the poor are increasingly dying of hunger.”
