Unpleasant news from Kaduna State troubled Kajuru local government area indicates that scores of locals have been kidnapped by the state’s bandits.

According to an unofficial source, the figure is “over 80”.

This is in addition to over 50 people kidnapped in the same local government just a week ago.

This occurred at a time when the federal and state administrations were attempting to gain the release of over 300 people kidnapped in the Goni Gora and Kuriga regions of the Chikun local council about three weeks prior.

According to a reliable source in the area, the criminal elements launched a coordinated attack on Tantau ward of Kajuru local council in the early hours of Monday, March 18, 2024, without being challenged.

“Over 80 persons were abducted in Tantatu of Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state early this morning. We are still counting,” the source said.

According to the source, the affected community where about 50 persons were abducted last week has not heard from the kidnappers ever since.

As the time of this report, both the Kaduna State Police Command and the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs have not made any official statement concerning this latest kidnapping episode.
