Bandits attack family of Kaduna DPO, kill mother, brother
On Monday night, bandits broke into the home of the Divisional Police Officer for Dutsi under the Katsina State Police Command, and in the process, they killed his mother and younger brother.
On Tuesday, the attack’s specifics were remained hazy, despite the fact that command spokesman SP Gambo Isah acknowledged the occurrence.
Isah said, “The incident is true but we don’t have details yet. Our officers have already gone there but I cannot say more than this for now.”
The DPO, whose identity was withheld for security reasons, was reportedly on duty when the terrorists raided his family’s home.
The two victims were buried on Tuesday in accordance with Islamic customs, according to sources as well.
A 20-year-old guy named Murtala Amme has also been detained by the police on suspicion of being a member of the group that included the infamous terrorist Kamilu Buzaru, who is reportedly wanted by the police.
Members of the camp, according to the authorities, are responsible for terrorizing local populations in the state’s Danmusa Local Government Area.
Ibrahim Dayyabu, 35, of Gobirawa Village, Maidabino, Danmusa Local Government Area, who is suspected of being a terrorist, is also currently in the police’s sights.
On November 23, 2022, a police patrol unit affiliated with the Kankara Division detained Dayyabu.
When the patrol squad approached him and took him into custody, he was allegedly riding a brand-new Honda motorcycle and on his way to the forest to provide the motorcycle to other terrorists.
The police spokesman added that “in the course of investigation, Dayyabu confessed to belong to the camp of a notorious terrorist known as Mani Doro and has brought over seven motorcycles for the terrorists. Investigation is ongoing on his case.”
