When bandits raided Kaura-Namoda town, the headquarters of Zamfara State’s Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area (LGA), two people were feared slain.
According to an eyewitness, the bandits stormed the village at 9 p.m. on Tuesday and began shooting randomly, prompting locals to flee for safety.
Ismaila Kaura, a resident of Kaura-Namoda town, informed Channels Television that two people were murdered in the incident, including a female student named Ni’ima, who was on her way to Islammiyya school at the time.
He claimed that forces from Operation Hadarin Daji stationed in the town fought the bandits in a gunfight, forcing them to flee.
The state’s police have yet to react on the latest attack.
