At least three persons have been reportedly killed while several others were injured as bandits invaded a market in Tsafe town, headquarters of Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
A witness reported that the bandits arrived at the market at approximately 11 AM on Sunday morning and began shooting at the traders.
ASP Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Police in Zamfara State, confirmed the attack to Channels Television over the phone.
He stated that the exact number of casualties from the attack is still unknown at this point.
Abubakar further mentioned that a combined team of military and police personnel was dispatched to the location to confront the bandits, and the situation has since been brought under control, restoring peace to the area.
