At least four students residing in the Paris Quarters area behind the Federal University, Dutsinma, Katsina State, have been abducted by suspected bandits.
A resident reported that the incident occurred at around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday when armed assailants, disguised and wielding sophisticated weapons, including AK-47 rifles, stormed the area and took four individuals.
While neither the state police spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, nor government officials have responded to inquiries, it was learned that security operatives were promptly deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call. However, the attackers had already escaped.
Efforts are reportedly underway to locate the abductors and ensure the safe return of the victims.
Dutsinma remains one of Katsina State’s security-challenged areas, facing persistent issues of banditry and cattle rustling despite ongoing government and security interventions.
