In the early hours of Tuesday, bandits attacked Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, and abducted Mansur Kaura, the manager of TAJ Bank in Gusau, from his home.
A source close to the manager informed Channels Television that the bandits entered his residence at Gidan Dari Bypass around 12am on Tuesday and took him to an undisclosed location.
“The bandits entered the area around 12am and started shooting sporadically, they gained access to his house and whisked him to an unknown destination,” the source said.
Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, informed Channels Television that a team of tactical operatives from the state command is actively pursuing the kidnappers in an effort to rescue Mansur Kaura without any harm.
“Yes, the incident happened. He was kidnapped at his residence early hours of today but our team is currently on the trail of the kidnappers and I assure you that he will be rescued safely,” he said.
