Bandits kill 12 farmers in Sokoto community

At least twelve people are reported to have been killed by terrorists allegedly led by the infamous bandit kingpin Bello Turji in Lugu town, located in the Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

According to various sources speaking to Channels Television, the attack occurred as the notorious bandits were returning from a Sallah visit to one of the communities in Isa, where they brutally murdered the farmers.

Local police authorities in Sokoto declined to comment on the incident, stating that, due to an ongoing military joint operation in the area, they are not authorized to discuss security developments.

When reached for comment, the Army at the 8th Division directed Channels Television to the Theatre Command of Operation FASAN YAMMA, which has yet to respond to inquiries about the tragic attack.

A lawmaker representing Sabon Birni in the state House of Assembly mentioned that locals informed him of the attack, but there is no evidence to suggest that Bello Turji visited any community in his area for Sallah celebrations.

He noted that there were reports of Turji planning to celebrate Sallah in the eastern part of Gataws, but prompt action by community members to alert security forces may have thwarted that plan, possibly prompting Turji to retaliate against innocent farmers instead.
