Suspected terrorists killed at least 27 people in separate attacks on two communities in Zamfara State.

Nasarawar Mai Fara in Tsafe Local Government Area and Yar Katsina in Bungudu Local Government Area were the communities targeted.

On Thursday, the Nasarawar Mai Fara community was attacked, killing 17, while the Yar Katsina hamlet was targeted, killing 10.

SP Muhammed Shehu, the State Police Public Relations Officer, verified the incidences in an interview on Saturday.

“One village in Tsafe was assaulted, and another in Yar Katsina was attacked yesterday, and the area is being manned by the military,” Shehu added.

“Brigade Commander and Security Commissioner Mamman Tsafe visited the village yesterday to assess the existing security arrangements in the community and to boost local trust.”

According to reports, the bandits attacked Nasarawar Mai Fara in Tsafe local government after villagers failed to pay an N40 million charge set by the robbers.

The levy was imposed by Ado Aleru, a notorious banditry kingpin operating in the area and the Faskari part of Katsina State.

The Police spokesperson said the command is not aware of any levy imposed on the community by bandits.
