Bandits have killed four persons, injured eight, while 15 others were abducted, in Fapo, a village in Lapai Local Government area of Niger State.
The villagers were shaken by the occurrence, which is alleged to have happened early on Sunday. When they heard gunfire, they ran for cover.
The armed men invaded the area in large numbers, shooting randomly, according to eyewitness Danlami Idris.
Idris said the attack lasted for hours adding that the community had never experienced such an attack.
“We have never experienced such attack before now, the attack was horrible considering the numbers of death recorded as well as injuries.” Idris said.
Idris called on governments and security agencies to rise up to their responsibility in securing lives and property to avoid future devastating attacks in the community.
