Bandits kill six, raze houses in Kaduna

At least six persons have been reportedly killed and scores abducted by bandits who attacked Bauda and Chibiya communities of Maro Ward in the Kajuru Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State.

The bandits reportedly descended upon the two villages on Monday afternoon, instilling fear and chaos among the residents, resulting in the deaths of six individuals.

Following their violent assault, the assailants abducted an undisclosed number of people while leaving several others with varying degrees of injuries.

As of now, the police authorities in Kaduna State have not issued any statements regarding the incident. However, the Chairman of Kajuru LGA, Ibrahim Gajere, confirmed that the bandits, riding motorcycles, attacked the communities on Monday afternoon, fatally shooting two individuals in Bauda village.

Subsequently, the gunmen proceeded to Chibiya village, where they mercilessly took the lives of four more individuals, including a visitor to the community. According to the council boss, four of the victims were attacked while working on their farms, while the remaining two were killed in their homes.

Furthermore, the chairman revealed that the rampaging bandits set ablaze approximately seven residential buildings and eight motorcycles during their rampage.

In response to the tragic incident, security forces have been alerted and have intensified patrols in and around the affected communities.
