At least three people have been reported dead, and numerous others abducted, following an attack by bandits on two churches in the Bakinpah-Maro Community of Kajuru Local Government Area (LGA) in Kaduna State.
According to eyewitnesses, the attack occurred on Sunday morning as the bandits, in large numbers, stormed the ECWA and Catholic churches during their services.
Former Kajuru LGA Chairman, Cafra Caino, stated that the bandits kidnapped 30 people, including Pastor Bernard Gajera, from both churches.
ASP Mansir Hassan, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, confirmed the incident to Channels Television, noting that three individuals were killed.
While the exact number of abductees has not yet been confirmed, he said the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, have launched a manhunt to capture the attackers and rescue the hostages safely.
