Bandits, who abducted 61 residents of Budah Hausa village in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State three weeks ago, have reportedly murdered five of the captives and freed 51 others.
Reports indicate that an additional five victims have not been released and remain in captivity.
While the police have not yet responded to the incident, a local vigilante, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed to journalists that all five victims killed were male.
According to him, “Those released had suffered while in captivity, including children, who couldn’t even walk when they returned because they were chained for weeks.
“Very terrible, if you see them, you will shed tears because they really suffered, especially the men among them. No fewer than 61 of them were abducted, 51 have returned, five killed in captivity, and five others are still with the bandits.
“Among those released, two were shot on the legs while in captivity. Those who regained freedom and whose condition worsened have been rushed to the hospital for treatment.”
