Former civil servants who exited the Bauchi State Civil Service from March 2013 onward are set to receive their outstanding gratuities, following the state government’s approval to clear payments that have been pending for 13 years.

The Bauchi State Contributory Pension Commission disclosed that the distribution of bank cheques to beneficiaries will begin on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the commission’s headquarters in Bauchi.

Confirming the development during a media briefing, the commission’s Executive Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Inuwa, said all necessary arrangements had been put in place to ensure a seamless payment process under the state’s contributory pension scheme.

He advised eligible retirees to visit the Commission’s office located near the Bauchi State Pilgrims Welfare Board with required documents for cheque collection.

Inuwa reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to pensioner welfare, adding that the payment drive is part of ongoing efforts to clear outstanding liabilities and restore confidence in retirement administration.

The exercise is expected to offer major relief to affected retirees and further demonstrate the government’s resolve to settle entitlements owed to former workers in Bauchi State.
