Computer drives containing unreleased music by US superstar Beyoncé and plans related to her concerts were stolen last week in Atlanta, police said Monday, with a suspect still at large.
The theft occurred on July 8, when items were taken from a rental car used by Beyoncé’s choreographer and a dancer, just two days before she launched the Atlanta leg of her “Cowboy Carter” tour, according to a police incident report.
Choreographer Christopher Grant, 37, told police he returned to the vehicle to find its rear window smashed and their luggage missing.
The report stated that the stolen items included multiple jump drives that “contained water marked music, some un-released music, footage plans for the show, and past and future set list (sic).”
Also stolen were an Apple MacBook, headphones, and several items of luxury clothing.
Police tracked a location ping from the MacBook and headphones, but the report did not indicate whether any items were recovered.
Atlanta Police confirmed in an online statement that a warrant had been issued for a suspect, who has not yet been apprehended.
The “Cowboy Carter” tour began in April, following Beyoncé’s win for “Album of the Year” at the 2024 Grammys.
The critically acclaimed, country-inspired project marked a bold genre shift for the artist and spotlighted Black contributions to country music, a legacy often overlooked by the industry.
Beyoncé concluded her four-night run in Atlanta on Monday and is scheduled to wrap up the tour with two final performances in Las Vegas later this July.
