    • United States President Joe Biden, has honoured Nigerian-born American Professor of Medicine, Dr. Nnaemeka Umerah for being with the lifetime Achievement award.
    • Biden, in a letter conveying his warm regards, commended Umerah for taking it upon himself to contribute to public good.

He said, “I congratulate you on taking it upon yourself to contribute to the public good, and I’m proud to present you with the President’s Lifetime Achievement award in recognition of your 5,400 hours of service to this great nation.

“Throughout our country’s history, the American story has been strengthened by those who combine optimism about what can be done with the resilience that turns vision into reality.
“By sharing your time and passion, you are helping to discover and deliver solutions to the challenges we face-solutions that we need now more than ever.”

However, a diaspora group, Association of Ebonyi Indigenes Socio-Cultural In the Diaspora (AEISCID) has felicitated Umerah on his award.
In a statement by its President, Paschal Oluchukwu, the group described the honour as truly deserving, considering the years of labour and volunteering services to humanity in the US and across the world rendered by the Umerah.
A native of Anambra State, Umerah is the President and Executive Director of the Public Policy Research and Advocacy Council, (PPRAC) – a political think-tank organisation based in America.
