Body of State Attorneys-General appoints Ben Odoh as chairman

The Body of State Attorneys-General has selected Dr. Ben Uruchi Odoh, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ebonyi State, as its Chairman.

Odoh was elected during the body’s meeting held on Thursday at the National Judicial Institute in Abuja.

Senior Ibrahim, the Attorney General of Kwara State, was chosen as the secretary of the body, while Mrs. Hauwa Abubakar, the Attorney General of Borno, was elected as Treasurer.

Odoh, the new Chairman of the body, is highly esteemed in legal circles for his strong advocacy for restorative justice and his leadership in initiatives that have transformed the legal landscape of Ebonyi State.

Under his guidance, Ebonyi State has undergone a significant shift in its approach to justice, establishing departments such as the Public Defender, the Department of Gender-Based Violence, and the Department of Citizens Mediation Centre.

Odoh’s leadership is anticipated to bring about a new era of cooperation and progress among the attorneys general of various states, fostering an environment conducive to advancing legal frameworks that uphold the rights and dignity of all Nigerians.
