Borno suicide bombers imported – Reps

The House of Representatives on Tuesday alleged, the female suicide bombers responsible for the deadly attack in Borno state on Sunday had been brought into the state from elsewhere.

This conclusion came following the consideration of a motion of urgent national importance presented by Honourable Ahmed Jaha.

Jaha, while condemning the attack, disclosed that investigations indicated the bombers were “recruited, indoctrinated, and transported from outside the state” to carry out the suicide bombing in Gwoza, resulting in the loss of over 30 lives.

He further emphasized that this incident highlights the persistent threat of terrorism in the country.

The lawmaker informed the House that more than 180 individuals sustained critical injuries and are currently undergoing treatment in various hospitals across the state.

In response, the House called upon security agencies to heighten their efforts to prevent such incidents from occurring again.
