A man in his late 20s identified simply as Kido in Issele-Uku, in the Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, has been arrested for allegedly killing his father.

Kido allegedly stabbed his father to death on their farmland in Issele-Uku area.

According to a source, the incident occurred when the suspect’s father confronted him about harvesting crops without permission.

“Kido stabbed his father to death and the community vigilantes have arrested him and handed him over to the police.

“But in his confession, the suspect said he did not stab his father but only used firewood on him in self-defence while he (father) threatened him (son) with a cutlass,” the source said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said the suspect was in custody while investigation was ongoing.

He said, “The son was arrested immediately and he is in detention. They were quarrelling on the farm and unfortunately he killed his father.”
