A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, alongside his wife, Asabe Bashir, and their son, Abdulaziz Malami.

Justice Joyce Abdulmalik approved bail for each of the defendants in the sum of ₦200 million with two sureties in the same amount.

As part of the bail requirements, the court ruled that one of the sureties must submit title documents of properties located in either Maitama or Asokoro, both considered high-end districts in Abuja.

The court further ordered the defendants to surrender their international passports to the court.

Until the bail conditions are fully met, the defendants will remain in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service.

Justice Abdulmalik subsequently adjourned the case until March 16 for the commencement of trial.
