Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has stated that the judgment in the case involving the self-acclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), “Nnamdi Kanu”, will be delivered without the defendant present.

Omotosho issued this ruling on Thursday during the resumed hearing, citing what he described as Kanu’s unruly behaviour in the courtroom.

Earlier in the session, the judge directed that the IPOB leader be taken out of the courtroom after he became disruptive midway through the proceedings.

Before this, Omotosho had dismissed three new motions filed by Kanu, stating that they lacked merit, after the matter had already been adjourned for judgment.

As the judge attempted to deliver the ruling scheduled for Thursday, November 20, Kanu protested, insisting the court could not proceed because he had not submitted his final written address.

Kanu raised his voice, accusing Omotosho of bias and alleging that the judge did not understand the law.

He was subsequently removed from the courtroom, and the judge went on to deliver the final judgment in his absence.
