The Senate has approved the confirmation of all 64 nominees for career and non-career ambassadorial appointments after deliberating on a report submitted by the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
The confirmation followed the presentation of the committee’s findings by its chairman, Senator Sani Bello, with the chamber subsequently adopting the recommendations.
During the proceedings, Senator Sahabi Yau raised a concern over the exclusion of Zamfara State, noting that no nominee from the state appeared on the list. He called on the Senate to draw the President’s attention to the omission.
Responding, the Senate President acknowledged the observation and clarified that the nominations under consideration were not comprehensive. He assured lawmakers that the issue would be communicated to the President, adding that further ambassadorial nominations are anticipated and that Zamfara State would not be left out.
