Buhari appoints new Director-General for FIIRO

The appointment of Dr Adamu Tutuwa as the substantive Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi FIIRO, Lagos, has been approved by the President, Muhammadu Buhari .

This is stated in a statement signed on Friday in Lagos by Mrs Monilola Udoh, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation.

Tutuwa was the Director of the National Biotechnology Development Agency’s Biotechnology Centre in Jalingo, Taraba, until her new position, according to the statement.

It went on to say that Tutuwa’s extensive experience in science research and development would be a valuable tool in propelling FIIRO further into the Commonwealth of renowned scientific, technological, and research nations.

“With her core competence in biotechnology and her affiliation to scientific donor agencies, hopes are high that her new constituency will benefit therein,” it said.

The statement stated that Tutuwa’s appointment takes effect from May 10, 2022, with a five-year non-renewable tenure.
