Buhari approves NBC Board reconstitution

President Muhammadu has approved the reformation of the governing board of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the media advisor to the information and culture minister, Segun Adeyemi, this followed the expiration of the former board’s tenure.

According to the statement, the minister, Lai Mohammed, selected Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa as Chairman.

“Other members chosen to represent various interests as stated by the NBC Act are Mr. Wada Asab Ibrahim, Mr. Iheanyichukwu Azubike Dike, Mrs. Adesola Oyinloye Ndu, and Mr. Olaniyan Olatunji Badmus,” according to the statement.

“Mr. Bashir Ibrahim, Mr. Obiora Ilo, Mr. Ahmad Sajo, Engr. Bayo Erikitola, a representative of the State Security Service, a representative of the Federal Ministry of Information and Technology “Mr. Bashir Ibrahim, Mr. Obiora Ilo, Mr. Ahmad Sajo, Engr. Bayo Erikitola, a representative of the State Security Service, a representative of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture as well as the Director-General of the Commission are also on the Board.”

The board has a three-year term, the statement added.
