President Muhammadu Buhari, has been challenged by interim government lawyer Rev. Chris Okotie to embrace restructuring and put his name in gold.
“Nigerians made Buhari what he is, and I believe that as a patriot and statesman, he would do the right thing by supporting our proposition for an interim government and write his name in gold,” Okotie said during his interview last week with AIT.
Despite the ongoing transition program, the Reverend claimed that President Buhari had the authority to oversee restructuring at this moment.
He disagrees with some who assert that the campaign for Aboriginal Democracy is out of step with the general election of 2023.
“We must have a nation first before we talk about the architecture of power,” Okotie insisted.
However, he acknowledged that it was only natural for people to monitor and participate in the political process because it was time for politics.
However, according to Okotie, we owed it to future generations—not to the All Progressives Congress, the People’s Democratic Party, the Labour party, or any other party—to save this country and our common patrimony.
Restructuring, he claimed, is “doable” with the adoption of Aboriginal Democracy and its constituent parts.
