The Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has expressed confidence regarding President Bola Tinubu’s planned reshuffling of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
During an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, she stated that she is not concerned about being removed from the cabinet despite the controversies surrounding her.
When asked about the possibility of being dropped due to the controversies, Musawa responded, “I don’t believe there is any controversy about me or my office. I campaigned for the President, and I trust his judgement.”
She praised President Tinubu’s leadership, noting his vision to improve Nigeria and his courage to make difficult decisions. “For him to deliver on his promises, he needs a team of capable lieutenants,” Musawa said. “It’s normal in any democracy for a leader to reassess his team to ensure they are aligned with his goals. If any member isn’t, we have to trust his judgement.”
Musawa added that she believes the President’s decision on cabinet restructuring will be made with the nation’s best interests at heart and will help further his mission and vision for Nigeria.
Calls for a cabinet reshuffle have come from various quarters, with some ministers labeled as underperforming. In late September, presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga mentioned that while President Tinubu is considering a reshuffle, no specific date has been set for the exercise.
