The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has inaugurated a new service office at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos to improve access to business registration and compliance services for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as part of efforts to enhance the ease of doing business in Nigeria.
According to a statement posted on the commission’s verified X account on Monday, the office was officially commissioned by the Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer of the CAC, Hussaini Magaji (SAN). The new facility is expected to make corporate services more accessible to entrepreneurs while supporting the Federal Government’s campaign to formalise small businesses.
The commission said the initiative is in line with the Federal Government’s ongoing reforms aimed at fostering economic inclusion, creating a more business-friendly environment, and encouraging more enterprises to operate within the formal sector.
It added that the office was strategically situated to complement President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s efforts to strengthen the formalisation of small businesses across the country.
The statement partly read, “The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has commissioned an additional service office at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos, to bring registration and compliance services closer to small business owners and further improve the ease of doing business in Nigeria.
“Commissioned today by the Registrar-General/CEO, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, the new office is strategically established to support the Federal Government’s drive, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to formalise small businesses and deepen economic inclusion.”
The commission stated that the new office had been fully equipped to provide seamless business registration, filing of annual returns and other regulatory compliance services.
According to the CAC, the facility will enable entrepreneurs to access its services more efficiently and reduce the time required to complete corporate transactions.
“The TBS office is fully equipped to provide seamless business registration, annual returns filing, and other compliance services, enabling SMEs to transact directly with the Commission in a faster, more convenient, and efficient manner,” the statement added.
The commission noted that the expansion underscored its commitment to supporting MSMEs, promoting regulatory compliance and ensuring that entrepreneurs have easier access to quality corporate services.
“This expansion reinforces CAC’s commitment to supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), promoting regulatory compliance, and ensuring that entrepreneurs can access quality corporate services with greater ease,” the statement added.
The opening of the Lagos office comes as the commission continues to roll out reforms and digital initiatives aimed at simplifying business registration processes, reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks and encouraging more enterprises to join the formal sector, which remains critical to Nigeria’s economic growth and revenue generation.
