Certificate saga: Peter Obi challenges Tinubu to reintroduce himself to Nigerians

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, has urged President Bola Tinubu to reintroduce himself to the Nigerian populace.

This statement comes in response to recent events, wherein a U.S. court mandated Chicago State University (CSU) to disclose the academic records of the President. This legal action was initiated upon the request of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

During a press conference held in Abuja on Wednesday, Peter Obi urged President Tinubu to once more provide information to the Nigerian public regarding his educational background, specifically the schools he attended and whether he took part in the one-year National Youth Service Corps program.

Additionally, he requested that President Tinubu address whether there have been any name changes in his history and emphasized the necessity of preventing what he referred to as an international embarrassment stemming from an identity crisis.

The former governor of Anambra State firmly asserted that, having held the highest political office in the nation, President Tinubu is no longer entitled to privacy concerning his personal identity.

The former Vice President had made a formal request for the disclosure of President Tinubu’s academic credentials from Chicago State University. This request arose due to suspicions regarding the authenticity of the certificate submitted by the former Lagos State governor to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

After receiving the President’s academic records during a press conference last week, Atiku, who is contesting Tinubu’s election, urged individuals like Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, along with other Nigerians, to join him in his pursuit of “justice” in this matter.

Atiku also made a commitment to persist in seeking justice on this issue and vowed not to give up.
