Chaos as Police try to disperse Shiites procession in Kaduna

Chaos reigns in the capital of Kaduna State as police officers attempt to scatter participants of a procession in the city center, led by members of the banned Islamic Movement of Nigeria, commonly referred to as Shiites.

The IMN members had assembled near the Katsina roundabout along Ahmadu Bello Way before the police intervened to disperse them.

This has sparked panic and anxiety among residents, especially those with shops along Ahmadu Bello Way. Many reportedly closed their shops to avoid getting caught up in the commotion.

This is not the first instance of IMN members organizing public processions despite being banned by the Federal Government under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
