The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) is set to host its 54th International Conference and Exhibition for first time in 23 years at Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Vice President of the Institute, Henry Umuakpor disclosed this while appearing as a guest on a monitored programme on Classic FM Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
“The 54th International Conference themed ‘Leading People, Growing Nations’ is going to be a huge one because the last time it happened in Port Harcourt was 1999 (23 years ago)”.
He also noted that this year’s International Conference and Exhibition (ICE) aims to refocus human resource practitioners’ attention to their roles in nation building and national transformation, as well as the importance of leadership capacity building and human capital development in the growth and development of nation states.
“The conference sessions will provide attendees with knowledge, insights, tools, experiences, frameworks, and new models required for leading and managing people and building and growing nations to thrive and flourish”, he added.
Meanwhile, the Registrar of the Institute, Oluwatoyin Naiwo explained that the conference which will commence by October 17th to October 21st will host over 30 speakers, over 300 delegates, 8 plenary sessions, 12 technical sessions, over 40 exhibitions, gala night and more.
Naiwo advises the general public to go on the Institute’s website and register for the conference.
