Civilian JTF kills nine terrorists, arrests five in Kaduna
On Sunday, members of the Civilian Joint Task Force in Katsina State’s Batsari Local Government Area repelled a terrorist attack on the town, killing nine of the attackers.
The civilian task force team also detained nine of the motorcycles used in the attack and detained five additional terrorists.
Sources in the town indicated that the terrorists conducted the attack on the town around 4.30 p.m. on Sunday, shortly after the evening prayers, despite the state police command’s assertion that it had not yet been officially informed about the incident.
According to reports, the terrorists invaded the town that serves as the LGA’s administrative center on no fewer than ten motorcycles.
The civilian task force team allegedly engaged the terrorists in combat, which resulted in the deaths of nine of them, the arrest of five gang members, and the seizure of nine motorcycles utilized by the terrorists in their mission.
According to sources, things were still tight in the town as of Monday because the civilian task force members were reportedly repositioning themselves to thwart any terrorist surprise strike.
Isah said, “I will brief you whenever the DPO for the area briefs the command about the incident but for now he has not briefed us.”
