The Katsina State Ministry of Internal Security declares the Civilian JTF in the state on Friday night killed a renowned bandits leader, Kachalla Maude.
The civilian JTF, with the assistance of security officers, ambushed a terrorist gang led by Kachalla Maude at Garin Rinji, a village in the western section of Batsari Local Government.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Katsina State Commissioner for Information and Culture Bala Zango stated that during the ambush, the JTF opened fire on the terrorists, resulting in the apprehension of the gang leader.
He claimed Maude and his crew have been terrorising the western section of the state’s Batsari LGA.
The commissioner stated that Maude confessed to leading attacks on various settlements along the Batsari/Danmusa axis, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of innocent people.
He also admitted to collecting more than N130 million in ransom from the victims’ families.
