Former Energy Watch Editor, Monday Ashibogwu, has endorsed Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a reliable alternative to petrol, which has become increasingly expensive. Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program on Tuesday, Ashibogwu highlighted CNG’s benefits, particularly its environmental friendliness and clean energy status.

He said, “CNG is the future because it’s a clean energy source and environmentally friendly. The only challenge we face now is ensuring a seamless transition, as converting vehicles to run on CNG can be costly unless there is government support.”

Despite the Federal Government’s announcement to distribute CNG kits nationwide, concerns remain about the safety of using CNG for cars and generators. Addressing these fears, Ashibogwu assured the public, saying, “CNG kits are designed with strict safety standards and are installed according to safety regulations. People use them globally with minimal reports of accidents involving CNG-powered vehicles.”
