COAS assures Gov Alia of troops dedication in addressing security challenges

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has restated the Nigerian Army’s dedication to decisively addressing security challenges in certain areas of Benue and neighboring states.

On Wednesday, at the Benue State Government House during a courtesy visit to Governor Reverend Father (Dr) Hyacinth Alia, COAS Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja affirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Army in effectively addressing security challenges in Benue and neighboring areas.

Gen Lagbaja expressed gratitude to the state government and its citizens for the positive relationship between the state and the Nigerian Army, as well as the support provided to the troops stationed in the region.

During the visit, Governor Dr. Hyacinth Alia acknowledged and appreciated the efforts and sacrifices made by the Nigerian Army troops in maintaining peace in Benue State. He assured continued support from his administration to enhance the operational efficiency of the troops in safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens.

Additionally, the COAS conducted a working visit to the 4 Special Forces Command of the Nigerian Army in Doma, Nasarawa State.

During his address to the troops in Doma, the Army Chief praised them for their resilience and selfless dedication to serving the nation. He encouraged the troops to maintain the highest standards of professionalism in carrying out their official responsibilities.

While touring the facilities at the Nigerian Army Barracks in Doma, the COAS assured the troops of the commitment of the Federal Government and the Army High Command to enhance infrastructure and supply combat enablers, aiming to optimize their performance in their roles.

Gen Lagbaja urged the troops to uphold discipline and give their utmost effort in serving their homeland.
