As fuel shortages continue to affect daily life in several states, the Independent Petroleum Marketers (IPMAN) has called on President Bola Tinubu to make it a priority to complete the ongoing rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery, which they see as a critical solution to the persistent fuel distribution issues.

Tekena Ikpaki, the IPMAN Rivers State Chairman, made this appeal during an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

Ikpaki praised the president for his efforts to restart closed refineries, noting that this action is more crucial now than ever.

He also highlighted the necessity for IPMAN members to have access to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation portals to purchase products directly, which is vital to avoiding potential fuel shortages in Port Harcourt and surrounding areas. He pointed out that relying on reserves at private depots is not a sustainable solution, as demonstrated by shortages in other parts of the country.
