Coronavirus: NCDC DG quarantined for 14 days after China trip – Minister

The Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, has been quarantined for 14 days after arriving from China.

Nigeria’s Health Minister, Prof. Osagie Ehanire disclosed this on Tuesday when he appeared before the Senate to give update on Coronavirus.

According to him, the NCDCboss was taken into isolation because he just came back from China.

Ehinire stated that the standard practice was to quarantined anybody coming into the country for 14 days from the high-risk nations.

He said this was done to prevent the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
