A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt dismissed a suit seeking to bar the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, Siminalaye Fubara, from running in the 2023 elections.
Chief Morgan West, a PDP aspirant, had challenged Fubara’s candidacy, claiming that he (Fubara) was not a member of the party and did not have a valid PDP membership card, among other things.
However, the presiding judge, Justice Adamu T. Mohammed, dismissed the plaintiff’s suit on Friday for incompetence and lack of jurisdiction.
