Anita and her estranged husband, Paul Okoye, have been granted a divorce by an Abuja High court that is located in Maitama.

Anita stated that her primary motivations for obtaining a divorce were infidelity, infidelity, separation, being an absent father, fraud, and challenging situations.

She also asked for several of her husband’s residences and a monthly settlement of $20,000.00.

Anita had earlier stated in her divorce petition filed at an Abuja High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama, and signed by her attorneys Ojonimi Akpe and Okutepa J.S. that she had paid N10 million as part of a deal with her husband to be given space at the mall he had just finished in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. She claimed that Paul Okoye cheated her out of a transaction, nevertheless.

The petition reads in part, “That I know as a fact that the petitioner founded a company called TannkCo in 2019.

“That the petitioner and the respondent agreed to build a mall where TannkCo would have its main offices, and the petitioner contributed N10,000,000.00 (Ten Million Naira) for the purchase of the land and the building of the mall.

“That I know as a fact that the respondent, upon completion of the mall, reneged on the agreement and failed to give TannkCo a space in the mall.”

Anita, however, chose to drop the allegations and settle instead after allegedly failing to support each one of them in her court case.

As a result, on October 20, 2022, the court awarded the parties shared custody of the kids in its ruling.
