Court extends remand of skit maker, Trinity Guy in prison

A family Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan in Oyo State, on Tuesday, again ordered that a skit maker, Maruf Abdullahi, popularly known as Trinity Guy, be remanded in Agodi Correction centre until August 31 for allegedly sexually exploiting a ten-year-old girl.

According to earlier reports, that the police charged Abdullahi alongside the parents of the victim with conspiracy and sexual abuse/exploitation

The Magistrate, P. O. Adetuyibi, ordered Abdullahi, 31, and the parents of the child, Isiaka Ahmed 40, and his wife, Rofiat Ahmed, 29, to continue to be remanded in Agodi.

During the court proceedings, the prosecution counsel, Oluwakemi Arowosaye, informed the court that the accused individuals had allegedly conspired to commit sexual abuse.

Specifically, on December 17, 2022, Trinity Guy was accused of sexually abusing and exploiting the ten-year-old girl in the Kuola area of Ibadan.

The police stated that this action violated the provisions outlined in Section 35(1) and was punishable under Section 35(2) of the Child Rights Law of Oyo State in 2006. Additionally, it was deemed to contravene Section 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State in 2000.
