Court remand ‘Fake doctor’ alleged murder of patient

On Monday, an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, remanded Adegoke Olaoluwa, 45, a ‘fake doctor,’ for the alleged murder of his patient, Adekunle Badmus.

Olaoluwa, who lives in Ibadan’s Idi-Aro neighbourhood, is charged with murder.

The Magistrate, A.T. Oyediji, who did not accept the defendant’s plea, ordered that Olaoluwa be remanded in the Agodi Correctional Centre in Ibadan seeking legal advice from the state Directorate of Public Prosecution.

The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Opeyemi Olagunju, had previously informed the court that the defendant unlawfully caused the death of one Badmus, 45, on Tuesday, February 20, at around 10 a.m. at Mercy Clinic and Maternity in Idi-Aro, Ibadan.

Olagunju said, “The defendant administered saline drugs to the patient without lawful justification.

“The offence is contrary to Section 316 and punishable under Sections 319 and 484 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.”
